We drove about 90 minutes to Kaliro and we were greated be an amazing group of kids singing and dancing! All the kids had such huge smiles and were so happy to see the van roll up and all of us get out. After our wonderful welcome we entered a pavilion and the staff did some introductions, we heard several testimonies of how the KIDS (Kids in Desperate Situations) Uganda program and The Lord Jesus have changed their lives, this brought tears to our eyes. You can see from the photos that the need is great and this is just one of the 6 rescue units. We all had a chance to speak to the kids letting them know we were so happy to meet them and that they are loved. Andrew and Anna Grace got to teach them a funny song and they all loved it. We finished our time with a lunch they made for us before heading back to our hotel. We are all feeling rather tired and praying that we stay healthy. Tomorrow the plan is church, but first it's on to a good night sleep. Thank you all for your prayers and for keeping up on our journey, it is quite amazing to see how the kids with so little have so much love for us and Jesus.

This was our last day with the kids in Koboko. We had a chance to go to a couple of the schools some of the kids attend. Many of the class sizes are quite large, in fact over 100 kids in the Prinary 1 (1st) grade class we saw. They were great, sang a song for us and we did for them. We also got meet the girl Anna Grace sponsors, Stella who is 14, she was very sweet. Lunch was beans, millet, posho and termites if desired. We did some crafts and played with the neatly 100 kids who came today. Tomorrow is another long 10+ hour drive down to Iganga where we will visit more rescue centers. One final picture above is the local car wash.
Dubai to EntebbeWe have not had any service until today. Here is a brief update with more to follow later. The photos above are leaving Dubai and flying to Entebbe Uganda, another 5 hour flight. If you look closely you can see the tallest building in the world. This was our best look as we did not make it there in person. Entebbe to KampalaWe arrived safely to Uganda and spent some time getting through passport checks, getting through visas, finding all of our luggage and trying to fit the team in two separate vehicles. We the departed the airport to spend the night in Kampala about 1 hour away, but due to rush hour it took quite a bit longer. The photos above don't even begin to capture the traffic chaos that occurs. Imagine a two lane road with 4 lanes of traffic, motorcycles and pedestrians weaving in and out. It's amazing there are very few accidents. Kampala to KobokoMonday morning we left Kampala at 7am to start the 10 hour drive to Koboko. The trip ended up taking nearly 13 hours due to various things like tarping the luggage for rain, fixing a slow leak in one tire, and bathroom/snack breaks. We crossed the Nile River several times, saw some baboons and storks. Overall we had a nice long drive. More pictures to come. Our First Koboko DayWe started by sleeping in a bit today with breakfast at 8am. Following breakfast we went to the KIDS Uganda site and met Camille who lives onsite and some of the staff. We unloaded lots of the donated items for this site and played a bit with the staff and a few kids before the big lunch meal. Again more pictures to come, but there were about 60 orphan kids that came to lunch. Karissa and our kids had great fun with them doing some crafts like making snow with baking soda and conditioner, cutting 6 sided snow flakes (we are all created unique by Jesus just like each flake is unique), making wordless book bracelets and singing some worship songs. We next went to a farmers market, but huge and quite varied compared to what we see at home. We ended today with another late dinner of rice and beans and hit the sack. More updates to come.
Landed in Dubai and headed through customs.About half of the team headed to our hotel for the night. It's only 37 Celsius tonight.
First stop in LA. With an 8 hour layover we had some fun playing games with friends on the team. Next stop Dubai, only 16 hours on the next flight and 11 hours ahead in time. Andrew did have some sinus pressure on the flight and we would appreciate your prayers that he is not in pain for the next long flight. Thank you all. The next plane has arrived! It's hard to get the perspective... Let's just say this plane is big. Our next flight is about to start, everyone is very excited. Next update from Dubai.
with 10 checked bags, six overhead carry-ons, and six backpacks, we are heading out! We love and will miss you all!
